Siegel’s classy work includes fast-paced thrillers, lively comedies and challenges to traditional morality but he’s still not very well known, especially in his own country, the US. A cheerful and energetic look at the films of the director of Dirty Harry and The Killers.

Eddie Muller and the art of noir
Eight “lost” films made between 1941 and 1952 by three Hollywood studios and chosen by Eddie Muller, a world expert on films noir, founder and head of the Film Noir Foundation, organiser of San Francisco’s Noir City film festival and programme chief at the American Cinematheque’s Egyptian Theater, in Hollywood.
